Neighborhoods

The Meramec River flows through St.
Louis and Jefferson Counties before
meeting up with the waters of the
Mississippi River. Paddlefish,
walleye, and smallmouth bass still
ply the waters. The riverine system
and the surrounding parklands
produces a corridor of green space
and recreational opportunities,
protecting a diverse natural system.
Numerous trails travel along the river
and up over the bluffs giving the hiker
a glimpse of ducks, herons, beavers
and other species of wildlife that may
be seen along the river.
